Committed To Our Community
At First Community Bank of Tifton, we're committed to the growth and enrichment of our community in more than just a business sense. We pride ourselves on community involvement and participation in community events. Here are some examples of how we have been able to give back to our friends and neighbors in Tift County who have supported us.
March of Dimes WalkAmerica Each year businesses and individuals around Tift County dedicate their time and money to March of Dimes in an effort to help babies get a healthy start to life. First Community Bank supports the March of Dimes by volunteering and walking. Our employees have also served as Chairpersons presently and in the past.
Education
Each year, First Community Bank adopts a local school to form a partnership in education in which selfless employees take time to provide the school, teachers, and students with rewards and recognition. Many of our employees devote a great deal of time to Annie Belle Clark Elementary School, our adopted school. Some activities include reading to the classes weekly and showing our appreciation for the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. We also recognize the student of the month in each Homeroom and provide support for the school as needed.First Community Bank supports the Tift County Headstart "Give-A-Book" program and the Title I program "Day in the Park." We have made pledges and continue to support the Tift County Foundation for Educational Excellence so that Tifton may remain the "Reading Capital of the World." First Community Bank also proudly supports other youth programs so that we may help build character for our young men and women of tomorrow.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life
This annual event is designed to raise both cancer awareness and money to be donated to cancer research. Teams take turns walking the relay in support of the American Cancer Society and in celebration of cancer survivors everywhere. First Community Bank has been a recurrent sponsor of this event and has had consistent team presence at the relay in many years past.
United Way
The United Way of Tift County supports a variety of local charitable organizations with donated and raised funds. The Tift County Council on Child Abuse, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, Carousel House, Food Bank, Hospice, Literacy Volunteers of America, Luther's House, Salvation Army, and Meals on Wheels are some of the recipients of these funds. In addition to several donations made each year by the bank, employees of First Community Bank personally donate to the United Way through payroll deductions. Furthermore, our officers have served on the board of United Way presently and in the past.
Other Involvement
First Community Bank's Board of Directors, Officers and Employees are also involved throughout Tift County as members and participants in a number of organizations including Tift 20/20, Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Sertoma Club, Lions Club, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and Kiwanis Club and contribute in excess of $30,000 annually to various organizations.
First Community Bank takes pride in our community and works hard to give back to the people and our community who play such an important role in our success.
Banking with a new perspective...yours!
